25 years ago Rick Hansen had a dream – to make the world more accessible and inclusive and to find a cure for spinal cord injury. Inspired by a deep-seated belief that anything is possible, Rick’s ‘big dream’ took shape in the form of the Man in Motion World Tour. For 26 months, he and his team wheeled more than 40,000 km through 34 countries, raising awareness of the potential of people with disabilities.

Twenty five years following his legendary Man in Motion World Tour, Rick Hansen’s journey to realize his dream of a world inclusive and accessible to all, continues.

The itinerary for the Rick Hansen Relay in Aurora is as follows:

December 7th Relay in Aurora

• The Rick Hansen Relay will arrive in Aurora at Bathurst and Wellington at approximately 2:20 p.m. and will continue down Wellington Street East to John West Way where it will stop at the Aurora Town Hall at approximately 3:30 p.m. for the End of Day Celebration that will take place in the Aurora Council Chambers.

• The Rick Hansen Foundation team and medal bearers will also be at the Town of Aurora's Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 7th at 6:30 p.m.

December 8th Relay in Aurora

• The Rick Hansen Relay will start at the Aurora Town Hall parking lot at approximately 9 a.m. and then head South on John West way to Wellington Street East for a stop at St. Maximilian Kolbe High School. The group will then head to John West Way North to make their way out of Aurora to Newmarket.

Residents and visitors are welcome to line the route in support of the relay and attend the end of day celebration on December 7th to cheer on the medal bearers participating in the relay.
