Welcome Visits are Free and without obligation.
During these Welcome Visits helpful information about the Town and various community groups is provided and gifts are given from civic-minded businesses and professionals who sponsor the visits.

*Note: Babies nine months of age and younger are considered “new”.

Welcome Wagon also hosts special events. These events are all free, but pre-registration is required. Baby Showers and Bridal Showcases are held twice each year, while the Fifties Plus Showcase is held annually. Visit the Welcome Wagon website for dates, locations and to register.

A bit about Welcome Wagon…

Welcome Wagon has been Canada’s Neighbourhood Tradition since 1930. It was founded in Memphis, Tennessee, but has been Canadian Management-owned since 1979. It takes its name from the Conestoga wagons of frontier days when settlers would bring supplies to greet passing wagon trains and encourage them to settle in their community.

Aurora was selected to be Welcome Wagon's 2009 Community of the Year for the Ontario Region in the 35,000 to 60,000 population category. This award recognizes that Aurora’s Welcome Wagon programs have excellent participation by the business community, a high ratio of families visited and good civic involvement with Welcome Wagon services.
